Samina and Robin came from Canada to celebrate their wedding in Sicily, together with their children, family and friends.
This was not just a destination wedding — it was a true castle wedding Sicily, set in one of the most iconic historic venues on the island.
He has English roots, she was born in Nairobi, Kenya and their wedding had that rare feeling of different stories meeting in one place. Not in a generic “destination wedding” way, but in a real one: people travelling, gathering, dancing, laughing, and making Sicily part of their family story.
Their wedding took place at Castello San Marco — a real baroque castle in the Sicilian countryside, with stone walls, formal gardens and grand interiors. The kind of place that already has its own identity, before you add anything to it.

A first intimate ceremony in Taormina
Before the main celebration, Samina and Robin had already said yes in a more intimate way at Palazzo Duchi di Santo Stefano in Taormina.
It was a quiet, emotional ceremony, shared with their closest family. After that, lunch at the Four Seasons San Domenico Palace — one of those places where elegance and theatre just exist, without needing to prove anything.
Then, the second yes at Castello San Marco
Later, it was time for the second part of the day: their vows in front of relatives and friends, under an arch of flowers that deserves its own moment.
Their wedding took place at Castello San Marco — a real baroque castle in the Sicilian countryside, making it a perfect setting for a castle wedding Sicily, with stone walls, formal gardens and grand interiors.

Samina walked into the ceremony in white. By the evening, she was wearing a vivid red and fuchsia sari — and the whole atmosphere shifted with her. No announcement, no explanation. Just a woman choosing to bring both parts of herself into the same day.
Her hands, covered in mehndi, had been saying it since the morning.
The bridesmaids, the colour, the whole idea
The bridal party didn’t match. Each bridesmaid wore a different colour — blues, pinks, warmer tones — and together it worked perfectly against the fuchsia arch and the castle gardens.
No pale tones, no flowers disappearing into the table. This wedding had colour, and it committed to it.

Outside, the castle lit up in warm tones against the stone walls. Inside, the atmosphere shifted — people relaxed, music started, and the evening took over.
The cake cutting happened at a long decorated table, surrounded by flowers and candlelight, with everyone close. Then the dancing started, and no one was in a hurry to leave.

With a wedding like this — two ceremonies, different locations, a mix of cultures, emotions moving fast — the real work is in reading the moment. Knowing when to anticipate, when to wait, and when to leave space.

What made Samina and Robin’s wedding special was not only the location, even if Castello San Marco did its job very well.
It was the mix of cultures, the mehndi and the sari alongside the English family, the presence of their grown-up children, the choice to celebrate twice, and the feeling that this wasn’t built to impress.
It was built to mean something.
And Sicily, with its light, its food and its complete lack of subtlety, was exactly the right place for it.
